Berbatov claims second Barclays award

Berbatov has been honoured by Barclays after reaching 20 goals this season

Manchester United Dimitar Berbatov has been presented with the Barclays Race for the Golden Boot ’20 goals’ Award.

The Red Devils frontman is the first player this season to reach 20 Barclays Premier League goals after his late winner against Bolton Wanderers two weeks ago.

Since receiving the equivalent award for reaching 10 goals back in December, the Bulgaria international has scored twice against Sunderland and Blackpool, as well as hitting a treble in a 5-0 victory over Wigan Athletic.

Three Hat-Tricks

He registered number 20 on 19th March with a single goal against the Trotters to help United extend their lead at the top of the Barclays Premier League.

In reaching the 20-goal mark Berbatov has scored an incredible three hat-tricks in one Barclays Premier League season, joining Alan Shearer and Ruud Van Nistlerooy in a list of just three players to manage the feat.
